How I Turn Thoughts Into Blogs
Try out the Notion template I use to capture ideas and convert them to content
Greetings my fellow scribes,
Those summer months really throw a wrench in the works, don’t they?
There’s been quite some radio silence from my end, but a few notable developments too.
First of all, I closed down the Writer’s Juice Discord server. Between my various commitments both on and offline, running a free Discord server was just too much. Not having the time to be present in the server bothered me and I felt it was better to stop the thing altogether than to leave it in its ghostly form.
That doesn’t mean I’m gone though; quite the opposite…
I’ve set up a new portfolio website and have been hard at work resurrecting my Medium account. Here are a few recent articles you might enjoy:
But you didn’t sign up to this newsletter just to hear about me…
Newsletter Vision
I’ve been thinking about the future of the Writer’s Juice newsletter. On one hand, it’s been fun to write, and diving deep into the themes each week was a lot of fun. On the other hand, putting the effort into the topic research, graphics and curation took quite some time out of my calendar every week.
I want to keep providing value to you in this newsletter, but as a one-man show, it needs to be sustainable. Moving forward, I aim to provide value to you in a variety of ways. That may come in the form of article spotlights (like above), occasional themed posts (like previously) or even special offers on useful resources. Speaking of which…
Meet the Writer’s Juice Creator Hub
Over the years I’ve been searching for a system to capture and develop my content ideas. I recently gave Notion a try and haven’t looked back since. The platform is exactly what I was looking for as a content creator.
I know many of you are content creators too, so I’m doing something very special today. I’m giving Writer’s Juice subscribers free access to the Notion template I use for my own content creation process.
I personally designed this system as a funnel to:
Capture ideas
Assign those ideas to content pipelines
Draft content
Record and analyse performance data
All in one platform, on mobile or desktop, for free.
An overview of the idea funnel and content pipelines.
A closer look inside a Medium draft.
In order to use the template, you’ll need a free Notion account. Once signed in to your account, simply click “Duplicate” on the top right of the Writer’s Juice template and a copy will appear in your own workspace. You’ll need to be logged in on your desktop browser for this duplication step.
From there on, you’re free to use and modify the template in your workspace however you want. Change 𝕏 to LinkedIn, Medium to Substack, or add entirely new workflows.
Here’s your access: Writer’s Juice Creator Hub
Note that the link will bring you to a cover page where I’ll be dropping future Writer’s Juice resources. For example, you’ll find the recent Web3 Writing Platforms guide listed there too.
If you do try the template out, I’d love to hear your feedback!
